California Supreme Court overturns ban on gay marriage

In a 4-3 ruling this morning, the California Supreme Court overturned the state's ban on gay marriage on the grounds that domestic partnerships constitute a separate and unequal second-class status with regard to the option to marry that is afforded to opposite-gender partners.
