I know several local people who "draw" their signature, because they can't read. They hide it, but you can tell if you know what to look for. You need a hellova memory to pull it off.

They have money, but nothing like what they should have based on their skills.

Coming from a family of voracious readers, it was a shock the first time I figured it out.

Good on him for making it, and for admitting it.

I just ordered the book from Amazon.ca (alas, B&N didn't have it, or I'd have ordered from them). Looking forward to reading it.

Demers must have a will of iron, the memory of an elephant, and the determination of a hundred men.

You're never too old to learn, and with his character it would be a snap. I hope he pursues it.

I've known a few illiterate (and very successful) adults; mostly 'old timers'who do a good job of masking it. It boggles the mind to think what they could have accomplished with just a basic, third-grade reading ability.
