In honor of Mozart's 250th birthday today, I'm doing a special Friday Random 10--just of his music. If you want to play along, take out your iPod or other musical device. Select "Mozart" as the composer, and set it to shuffle by song. Hit "play." Write down the first ten tracks that come up. And that's how we play the game.
Here are mine:
- Clarinet Concerto in A Major, K. 622. ii. Adagio (The Academy of Ancient Music/Christopher Hogwood, Mozart: Clarinet Concerto, Oboe Concerto)
- Sonata in A Minor, K. 310. iii. Presto (Daniel Barenboim, Mozart: The Piano Sonatas)
- Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525. ii. Romance, Andante (The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields/Sir Neville Marriner, Mozart: Eine kleine Nachtmusik)
- Nr. 13, Arie: "Alles fühlt der Liebe Freuden" (The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields/Sir Neville Marriner, Die Zauberflöte)
- Fantasie in C Minor, K. 475 (Daniel Barenboim, Mozart: The Piano Sonatas)
- Sonata in C Major, K. 545. iii. Rondo (Daniel Barenboim, Mozart: The Piano Sonatas)
- Symphony No. 39 in E flat, K. 543. i. Adagio - Allegro (The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields/Sir Neville Marriner, Mozart: The Last Five Symphonies)
- Symphony No. 36 in C, K. 425, "Linz." iv. Finale - Presto (The Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields/Sir Neville Marriner, Mozart: The Last Five Symphonies)

You got more variety than I did. I have the horn concertos, the whole of Le nozze di Figaro, the Requiem (which turned up in my regular FR10 post), and I forget what else. But three tracks from the symphonies album, and two or three from Barenboim's recording of the piano sonatas was the bulk of my list.
