It's Crunch Week. The first of my comprehensive exams is a week from tomorrow. So I'm reading. Again. And again. And again. For the first time in my life, I'm beginning to hate reading. (And that says something.)
Actually, what I hate is reading stuff because someone says I have to or that I need to know it. A lot of what I'm reading (or re-reading) is stuff I'd happily read on my own because it interests me--it's having to do it on deadline that's galling.
Anyway, posting will probably be light-ish this week. Right now, I think I'm going to grab something (Peukert's The Weimar Republic, Dean's The Frail Social Body, Paul's Whitewashing Britain, Blackbourn's Class, Religion and Local Politics in Wilhelmine Germany, and Weil's Qu'est-ce qu'un Français? are all possibilities) and read in bed for a little while.
Then up early and down to the polling place, so I can get my voting done before work. Remember, tomorrow's Primary Day (at least here in Illinois). So, as we like to say around Chicago, "Vote early and vote often."
Catch you on the flip.
Hang in there! I'm thinking good thoughts for you!

In Chicago and Miami you vote even after you die, a nice tradition.
It is a shame that you have sync yourself with your examiners. Hang in there.
